Switching Gears...

As we wrap up flag football and move into pre-season for tackle football, now is a great time to look at your gear (equipment). One of the most important factors to look at is fit. Simply, does the equipment fit the player properly. As a player grows the way their equipment fits their body changes. It is obvious that if a player is looking out of an ear hole because the helmet spins freely on his head that the helmet is too big. Likewise a helmet that pinches a player's head to the point of pain is most likely too small. If you have gear at home, check it for damage. Check it for fit. If you have any questions about it contact us. We will be happy to look it over, fit test your gear with your player, and discuss any concerns or fears you may have about player safety. Also remember, new gear may look great but should be fit tested as well. Be careful about the fit testing done by big box retail stores. Just because it is new does not make it automatically safe. Also remember, coaching and proper technique play a big roll as does proper (gear) fit in player safety; we have seen some good and some not so good.  Again, feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns about your gear, our gear, or the safety of players.
