2019 LYFC Summer Camp!!
**Moving the start of camp to next Monday**
The weather forecast for this week indicates rain and thunderstorms. We do not want to chance getting the players out there and a storm breaks loose on them or injury from overly sloppy field conditions. We are moving the start of camp to next Monday (June 17, 2019). Registration will start at approximately 6PM. Please check the mylyfc Facebook page for updates.
**LYFC needs a favor from you. If you have a player that is attending the 2019 Summer Football Camp June10-20 please let us know by emailing: email@example.com
Also, for those attending camp, LYFC is monitoring the weather for next week. Currently, the forecast is for rain and thunderstorms. We will hold camp in a very light rain but anything heavier or with thunder (and definitely lightning) is too dangerous to be out in. We ask that if you check our Facebook page frequently for updates about field conditions and weather for camp. We will make the decision depending on the weather and radar by 4:30PM each day. **
We want young men and young ladies between the ages of 7-13 years old to come if it's their first time playing or have been playing for years. Big or small. Tall or short. Come out and learn about the different positions on a football team.
Date: June 10-20th. Mon, Tues, and Thurs of each week.
Location: 501 Ballpark Rd., Lexington, SC (the football field across the road from the Blowfish Stadium).
Check-in each day: 6:00PM-6:30PM
Wrapping up each day: 8:00PM
How to Register:
Click on the underlined link below for a registration form. Fill out form. Bring the form with you along with the registration fee the first evening of camp (LYFC accepts cash and checks).
What to bring/do before camp:
1. Bring the completed form with you on the first day along with registration fee.
2. Equipment. Dress for the weather (typically hot and humid so t-shirt, shorts, and cleats - football, baseball, or soccer will work) and bring a filled water bottle. Do not let your player come to camp without eating at least a good lunch and a light snack an hour or so before he/she comes to the field (We have seen too many kids get light headed from not eating). Additionally, hydrating (drinking water) should be done throughout the day and not just at camp.
Please email the following with any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org
Game Schedules Available for Download. Click on the underlined links below.
A special "Thank You" to this year's sponsors. Please support them as they support LYFC.
Why play with LYFC?
1. LYFC is one of the safer leagues to play with in the nation. Yes, it is a bold statement. Other leagues cannot back it up. LYFC can with years of data. Just ask Dr. Jim Mensch of USC who works with LYFC to provide certified athletic trainers to take care of our players and get them back into action.
2.The cost to play is lower than a lot of other leagues and sports in the county. LYFC's registration fees INCLUDE the use a helmet and shoulder pads. Your hard earned money is not going towards paying the coaches. LYFC coaches are all volunteers. Each coach is CDC concussion certified and must pass a background check.
3. LYFC fit tests players with their helmet and shoulder pads. No gear is safe if it does not fit properly.
